
According to statistics, Japan imported 11,997 tonnes of stainless steel scraps in June 2012, falling by 11.6% MoM from a month earlier.
Among them, 4,864 tonnes were from South Korea, increasing by 1.9% MoM; 3,311 tonnes were from the US, falling by 6.2% MoM; 1,019 tonnes were from Taiwan, decreasing substantially by 65.4% MoM and 564 tonnes were from Thailand, soaring by 83.1% MoM.
Meanwhile, Japan exported 12,006 tonnes of stainless steel scrap in June 2012. In the first half of 2012, the country's exports of stainless steel scrap totaled 86,662 tonnes.
