
Reportedly, the nickel spot prices at the London Metal Exchange on August 2nd 2012 closed at USD 15,300 per tonne, hitting the lowest level since 2012.
The nickel prices in three month delivery at LME rebounded to USD 16,160 per tonne on July 30th 2012 in the hope that ECB and FRB would announce some effective measures against the crisis in Europe, then dropped again since the next day on the continued uncertainty of European economy and China's weakening economy measures to USD 15,250 per tonne just before the closure on August 2nd 2012.
Figures showed that the nickel prices this year at LME has fallen by as much as USD 6,700 per tonne since it peaked at USD 21,950 per tonne in February 8th 2012 in the afternoon session.
