
According to Port Hedland Port Authority, in June 2012, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 141,650 tonnes, decreasing by 12.6% MoM as compared to the previous month and down by 13% YoY as compared to the same month last year.
According to the released information, China was the only export destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland in June 2012, with manganese ore shipments to China increasing 68.6% MoM and up by 46% YoY.
Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
