Stemcor Stainless, the specialist UK stainless steel distribution & trading arm of the Stemcor Group, has appointed Mr Martin Adams as business development manager.

Mr Adams has over 30 years experience in the stainless steel industry, having worked for British Steel Stainless and ThyssenKrupp. More recently, he held senior positions at a number of stainless steel distributors and was a director of an independent stainless steel stockholding and processing company for over 15 years.

Mr Tony Lockley MD of Stemcor Stainless (UK) said that "I am very pleased that Mr Martin has joined Stemcor. It is a tremendous opportunity for him and for us to be able to fully utilize his vast experience in the stainless steel industry, in particular his expertise in stainless flat products and the stainless slit coil business. He now has the support of the world's largest independent steel trading company, with its worldwide purchasing power through a network of 145 business units in 45 countries."

Stemcor will continue to increase its share of the UK stainless market by broadening its range and volume of sheet & coil products stocked for JIT delivery, by becoming more involved in the processing of stainless coil products and by continuing to work in partnership with independent processors and distributors both on an ex stock and ex mill basis.
