HudBay Minerals Inc has announced that Mr Peter R Jones will retire as CEO of the company effective December 31st 2009. Mr Jones will continue as a director of the company following his retirement. Also Mr Michael D Winship president & COO has resigned, effective immediately, to pursue other opportunities.

HudBay Minerals also announced that its board of directors has appointed Mr W Warren Holmes as EVC of the company effective immediately to facilitate transition to a new chief executive officer and has commenced its search for a suitable replacement for Mr Jones. Mr Holmes will assume the position of acting CEO effective January 1st 2010 pending the hiring of a new chief executive officer.
