
It is reported that Mr Ramiro Valdés Menéndez VP of the Council of States and Ministers visited some facilities of the oldest Cuban nickel factory in Nicaro.
Mr Valdez went to the dryers and mills plant, where he was briefed on its technical situation and met with workers.
Mr Ebert Olivero director of the enterprise presented details of the current production results and the technological measures to improve this 67 year old factory.
During his visit, Mr Valdez looked at some maintenance works at the Reduction Furnaces plant, the core of the metallurgical process of ammoniacal leaching.
Mr Valdez delved into the work conditions and the operation of some of the equipment. He also insisted on the need to re use the residual waters of processes as much as possible in order to reduce its environmental effects.
Accompanied by the minister of the basic industry Mr Yadira García Vera and Mr Jorge Cuevas Holguín first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, Mr Ramiro was at the helm of a program held in the communities of Nicaro and Levisa.
Alter reading the report issued by Mr Vivian Rodriguez, the government's president in the province, Mr Valdes Menendez encouraged workers to actively participate in this program in order to improve the quality of life, with cleanliness and beauty in both communities.
