Outokumpu's corporate responsibility reporting maintains its high quality for the report of the year 2009. It was ranked third in the Finnish corporate responsibility reporting review. The results of the 2010 review were announced on November 8th 2010, in Finland.

In total the reports of 42 Finland-based organizations were analyzed. This year, the jury placed special emphasis on companies' efforts in the field of energy and material efficiency as well as diversity at work. Outokumpu continues its good reporting practices: it was ranked third this year. For the 2007 and 2008 reports, Outokumpu's reporting was ranked first. The 2009 report was an online report with integrated annual and corporate responsibility reports. According to the jury, corporate responsibility is clearly linked to business in Outokumpu's report, and this is supported by integrated reporting. Furthermore, Outokumpu reports well on energy and material efficiency with set targets and results.

Especially because for the first time we only published an online corporate responsibility report and it was within our annual report. I believe that corporate responsibility reporting contributes to improving our responsibility in everyday business as well as transparency. I hope that by reading the reports our stakeholders get a better understanding of our operations and the challenges in stainless steel business. The responsible way to operate is the basis on which we build, but it is also important to let people know about our challenges and achievements.”
