Production pruning - Elementis to close Eaglescliffe by end of June

UK based Elementis plc will close its Eaglescliffe plant in the UK.
As per report Elementis has completed a strategic review of the operation and has decided that production will cease at the end of June 2009.
The report added that the decision comes as chromium metal prices have fallen to USD 7600 to USD 8000 per tonne their lowest level since November 2007.
