Metal Biz reported that TISCO is planning to produce 2.4 million tonnes of stainless steel in 2009, higher 200,000 tonnes over the original target of 2.2 million tonnes in early this year.

Mr Chai Zhiyong vice GM of TISCO said that the new production object of the company fully depended on the market. He added that "The company's demand in stainless steel products is good presently. After the adjustment, the production increased 34% over the 1.79 million tonnes in 2008."
