
Taigang Group, the largest stainless maker in China has started its nickel mining project in Myanmar this week.
It’s known that the mine contains 2.3% high grade nickel and it will help Taigang Group to reach iron ore self sufficiency rate of nearly 20%.
In recent years, Taigang Group has aimed to capture overseas resources. The company’s chrome mining project in Turkey will be started within this year.
In addition, its iron ore mining project which owns 1.2 billion tonne of resources in Chinese Shanxi Province will be also started within this year.
Taigang Group expected to raise the self sufficiency rare of iron ore to 50% by 2015 helping to the company to enhance competitiveness in the industry.
