According to data, Taiwan imported 23,491 tonnes of stainless scrap in July 2012, falling by 18% MoM and the average import prices were at TWD 55,952 per tonne, decreasing by TWD 1,624 per tonne from a month ago.

Among them, 10,221 tons were imported from the US with average prices of TWD 60,307 per tonne; 3,041 tons were from the Netherlands with average prices of TWD 57,349 per tonne and 1,783 tonnes were from Thailand with average prices of TWD 46,800 per tonne.

In the first seven months of this year, the country's import of stainless scrap amounted to 190,000 tonnes, down by 8% YoY.

Meanwhile, Taiwan exported 5,237 tonnes of stainless scrap in July 2012. In the first seven months of 2012, the country's stainless scrap exports totaled 39,000 tonnes.
