In order to offset the rising nickel price, Taiwan's major upstream stainless steel manufacturers Yieh United Steel Corporation and Tang Eng have raised up their major product list prices from January 2012.

Both companies increased the domestic prices of 304 stainless steel by between TWD 1,500 and TWD 2,000 per tonne.

In the meanwhile, YUSCO also hiked by USD 60 to USD 120 per tonne for the export products after considering the market situation and production costs.

Impacted by higher prices of upstream materials, a leading Taiwan stainless steel coils, sheets and pipes producer Yeun Chyang is considering raising its product prices as well.
