It is reported that Yieh United Steel Corporation and Tang Eng, the two largest stainless steel producers in Taiwan, have jointly filed an application to the Department of Customs Administration, Ministry of Finance to urge for antidumping investigation and provisional antidumping duty in 300 and 400 grades cold rolled stainless steel products imported from four countries including China, South Korea, Vietnam and Thailand.
In fact, the investigation will be mainly applied to the steel mills in China and South Korea.
According to Tang Eng, however, Vietnam and Thailand are brought into the investigation as the South Korean steel mills have set up plants in the two countries.
The DOCA will spend several months to determine whether the products from the four countries are dumped into Taiwan. If dumping facts are found, the DOCA will send it to the International Trade Commission to investigate whether the damages are caused.
