
According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey's ferroalloy imports fell by 24.5% MoM in November 2011 and were up by 225.5% YoY, totaling 28,672 tonnes. The value of these imports amounted to USD 43.7 million, decreasing by 29.4% MoM and up by 194% YoY.
In November 2011, Ukraine was Turkey's biggest source of ferroalloys with 10,045 tonnes, decreasing by 33.8% MoM and accounting for approximately 35% of Turkey's total ferroalloy imports. Turkey's second biggest source of ferroalloy imports in November 2011 was Georgia with 6,940 tonnes, increasing by 58% MoM.
In the first 11 months of 2011, Turkey's ferroalloy imports totaled 401,362 tonnes, increasing by 15.2% YoY. Imports from Ukraine in the period in question amounted to 130,779 tonnes, falling by 19.8% YoY, while imports from India in the first 11 months of 2011 amounted to 55,223 tonnes, up by 100% YoY.
