
According to statistics released by the US Department of Commerce, the US exported 42,766 tons of stainless steel in July 2012, falling by 18% MoM from 52,341 tons in June 2012.
It is analyzed that the dropped stainless steel exports caused by the decreased exports to Canada and Italy.
In August 2012, the shipments of stainless steel to Canada decreased to 14,926 tons from 17,261 tons in a month because of dropped sales of cold rolled sheets and narrow strips.
Meanwhile, the stainless steel shipments to Italy in August 2012 totaled 728 tons, slumping from 21,802 tons in July 2012, due to sharply dropped cold rolled sheet shipments.
