
According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers, in January to February 2010 Ukraine increased its ferroalloys production by 2.9 times compared to the same period last year to 240,700 tonnes.
Accordingly, during the first two months of 2010, Ukraine silicomanganese output increased by 2.8 times to 158,100 tonnes, ferromanganese production went up by 5.4 times to 46,100 tonnes, ferrosilicon output increased by 2.2 times to 33,700 tonnes while metallic manganese production went up by 86.7%YoY to 2,800 tonnes.
Specifically, according to the preliminary data, in January to February this year the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased its ferroalloy output by three times YoY to 148,600 tonnes including 112,900 tonnes of silicomanganese and 35,700 tonnes of ferromanganese.
During the period in question, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant increased its ferroalloys output by 2.6 times to 53,800 tonnes including 31,600 tonnes of silicomanganese, 9,000 tonnes of ferrosilicon, 10,400 tonnes of ferromanganese, and 2,800 tonnes of metallic manganese. In addition, another Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its January to February ferroalloys output by 3.3 times YoY to 38,300 tonnes including 24,700 tonnes of ferrosilicon and 13,600 tonnes of silicomanganese.
