
According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in January this year Ukraine ferroalloys production decreased by almost 10% compared to January 2010 to 110,300 million tonnes.
Accordingly, in the first month of 2011 Ukraine silicomanganese output decreased by 1.5% YoY to 78,400 tonnes, its ferromanganese production went down by 37.8% YoY to 15,000 tonnes, its ferrosilicon output dropped by 11.6% to 15,300 tonnes while its metallic manganese production increased by 14.3%YoY to 1,600 tonnes.
In January this year the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant reduced its ferroalloy output by 8%YoY to 70,400 tonnes including 60,600 tonnes of silicomanganese and 9,800 tonnes of ferromanganese. Meanwhile, in January this year, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant decreased its ferroalloy output by 23%YoY to 20,300 tonnes including 11,100 tonnes of silicomanganese, 5,200 tonnes of ferromanganese, 2,400 tonnes of ferrosilicon and 1,600 tonnes of metallic manganese.
Another major Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its January ferroalloy output by 1%YoY to 19,600 tonnes including 12,900 tonnes of ferrosilicon and 6,700 tonnes of silicomanganese.
