
According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers, Ukraine increased its ferroalloys production by 2.82 times in January to April 2010 period as compared to the same period of 2009 to 512,500 tonnes.
Accordingly, during the first 4 months of 2010, Ukraine's silicomanganese output increased by 2.66 times to 341,100 tonnes, its ferromanganese production went up by 4.33 times to 94,800 tonnes, its ferrosilicon output increased by 2.46 times to 70,600 tonnes, while its metallic manganese production went up by 93.5% to 6,000 tonnes, all compared to the same period of 2009.
Specifically, in January to April 2010 period, the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased its ferroalloy output by 2.76 times year on year to 312,600 tonnes, including 240,800 tonnes of silicomanganese and 71,800 tonnes of ferromanganese.
Meanwhile, during the period in question, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant increased its ferroalloys output by 2.83 times year on year to 119,900 tonnes, including 71,800 tonnes of silicomanganese, 19,100 tonnes of ferrosilicon, 23,000 tonnes of ferromanganese and 6,000 tonnes of metallic manganese.
In addition, another Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its January to April 2010 period ferroalloys output by 3.04 times year on year to 80,000 tonnes, including 51,500 tonnes of ferrosilicon and 28,500 tonnes of silicomanganese.
