It is reported that Universal Stainless & Alloy will cut alloy surcharge by 8.89% averagely for December 2011 shipment.

After the adjustment, the December 2011 alloy surcharge for 304 series stainless steel products is at USD 2,161 per tonne, down by 9.26%; that for 316 series materials is at USD 3,065 per tonne, decreased by 9.76% and that for 410 series products is at USD 684 per tonne, dropped by 6.06%, all compared to that in a month earlier.

In the background, Universal Stainless & Alloy manufactures semi finished and finished specialty steel products and its annual production of stainless steel products totaled around 1.2 million tonnes.
