Abstract
Application of energy dissipation devices is reasonable and cost effective to maintain main structural members in elastic state for high-rise buildings. This paper discusses required energy dissipation performance for the long period ground motion on M7 class earthquake and the ability of JFE hysteretic energy dissipation devices.
