In a groundbreaking initiative, Metinvest Group pioneers the production and supply of steel underground command posts, reinforcing Ukraine's armed forces. As part of Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front initiative, these subterranean bunkers emerge as a vital defense strategy to protect military personnel in the face of shelling and combat operations.

The first unit, accommodating 30 servicemen, has been delivered and installed in a critical front-line hotspot, free of charge. These underground command posts, developed since October 2022, offer a swift and efficient means of protection against artillery fire of any caliber. Comprising five or six interconnected mobile bunkers, the underground complex functions as a versatile shelter, encompassing living quarters, sanitary facilities, and workspaces for command staff.

Crafted from corrugated steel, the bunkers boast amenities equivalent to a respectable hotel, including sleeping and working areas, showers, heating systems, and electronic equipment storage. This not only ensures their use as shelters and recreation spaces but also transforms them into functional workplaces, supporting command teams in their duties on the front line.

Oleksandr Myronenko, Chief Operating Officer of Metinvest, emphasizes the group's commitment to enhancing the living conditions of fighters on the front line. The development of these advanced bunkers aligns with a broader mission to contribute to the safety and well-being of military personnel enduring the realities of prolonged conflict.

Volodymyr Horbatiuk, Brigadier General of Ukraine’s armed forces, underscores the strategic advantage these command posts offer. With the ability to make informed decisions promptly and ensure the safety and comfort of military personnel, these underground shelters become a crucial asset, especially in the demanding conditions of "Line Zero."

Metinvest's dedication to supporting Ukraine goes beyond steel production, with substantial contributions to aid for fighters. Since the start of the full-scale war, the group has allocated over $1.7 billion, providing essential equipment such as bulletproof vests, helmets, anti-tank hedgehogs, medical supplies, and various defense assets.

Metinvest's foray into producing steel underground command posts marks a milestone in defense innovation for Ukraine's armed forces. Beyond steel production, the initiative aligns with Rinat Akhmetov’s Steel Front to create safer and more comfortable living conditions for military personnel. These subterranean shelters, equipped with cutting-edge amenities, underscore Metinvest's commitment to safeguarding lives and supporting command teams on the front line. In the challenging landscape of conflict, this initiative becomes a beacon of resilience and innovation for the nation.
