The expansion of the fast-charging infrastructure in Germany is progressing rapidly in 2023. One driving force behind this is EnBW, which y operates the largest fast-charging network in both Germany and Austria. In the meantime, drivers can charge at more than 800 fast-charging locations of the energy company throughout Germany. EnBW has puts five new fast-charging parks for electric cars into operation. The new charging parks are located in Rostock-Kavelstorf in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Könnern in Saxony-Anhalt, Rüdersdorf in Thuringia, Hildesheim in Lower Saxony and Lembeck (Dorsten) in North Rhine-Westphalia (see overview below). They are equipped with up to 16 high-performance charging points. These enable drivers to charge the electric car with up to 300 kilowatts. Depending on the type of vehicle, they can charge a range of 100 kilometers in just five minutes. All five new EnBW fast-charging parks have a solar roof. The solar power produced directly on site supplies the sites or flows into the local distribution grid.EnBW has already set up more than 1,000 fast-charging locations. At the locations that have not yet been put into operation, motorists can charge as soon as the local grid operators have connected the sites to the power grid. In addition, around 100 other EnBW fast-charging sites are nearing completion of construction. EnBW will maintain this rapid pace of expansion of the nationwide fast-charging infrastructure in the coming months: Construction of around 250 additional fast-charging locations of the energy company will start in the first quarter of the current year.In addition to the company's own charging locations, EnBW also offers its customers access to over 300,000 charging points in Europe in the so-called EnBW HyperNetz. This also includes charging points from numerous other operators. The EnBW mobility+ charging tariffs apply everywhere with uniform and transparent prices per kilowatt hour. Drivers can find all charging points in the EnBW mobility+ app. EnBW's offer in the field of e-mobility regularly wins independent tests, for example for the best charging infrastructure operator and best electric mobility provider in Germany (including connect 11/2022) or for the best electric mobility app (Stiftung Warentest with the grades GOOD; iOS: 2.1, Android: 2.2; test 5/2022).
