Vattenfall InCharge, together with partners, will install a minimum of 4,000 charging points during three years in 67 municipalities in the Dutch provinces Gelderland and Overijssel. Placement is largely proactive, before the need arises, and based on an algorithm. Vattenfall InCharge places the proactive charging points based on a predictive algorithm. In addition, Vattenfall InCharge will also provide charging solutions on request and on the basis of usage data. If an electric car driver does not have the possibility to charge close by, it is possible to request a charging point nearby if no, or only a very busy charging station, is present. The InCharge network was introduced in 2016 by Vattenfall. It has today more than 30 000 connected charging points in northern Europe and provides drivers of electric cars with access to many more charge points through roaming agreements. With this new agreement, with the provinces of Gelderland and Overijssel, the installation work is planned more efficiently and the possibility to drive electric carelessly will increase significantly in the Netherlands. The proactive placement of charging points is based on a model from Royal Haskoning DHV, an international engineering consultancy firm. This model determines the load requirement in an area with a radius of 250 meters via an algorithm.Vattenfall is also installing a total of 8,000 charging points in the two provinces North Brabant and Limburg.
