Yaroslavl Motor Plant Starts Serial Production of V Type Engines
The power output of the new engine version vs. the base version was increased from 420 up to 530 hp at the same specific fuel flow. Engines with a higher power output are designed for vehicles with higher payload capacity and productivity. The plant will build the first one hundred engines till the year end.
Yaroslavl Motor Plant launched serial production of YaMZ-6580 engines with a higher power output. These 8-cylinder V-type engines are built in Yaroslavl. The engine with a higher power output underwent 800-hour tests. The service life of the new engines is up to 1 million km.
Unlike YaMZ-6585 with 420 hp, the YaMZ-6580 engines with a higher power output feature a more effective and efficient piston cooling. The adjusted gear design delivers an increase in the oil pump productivity from 165 up to 175 l/min. to maintain smooth engine operation at a power increase. Upgraded turbocharger and engine ECU contribute into the increase in the engine power output at the same specific fuel flow.
These engines with higher power output are designed for agricultural vehicles with improved operating parameters and modern diesel gensets. These V-type YaMZ engines are reliable, have a high level of commonization among base and other versions, and are fit for various applications. The engines are highly serviceable, whereby spare parts are avilable in all regions of operation.
