DEGES has awarded the contract for the A7 replacement of the Rader Hochbrücke to a consortium consisting of Implenia, Plauen Stahl Technologie and Zwickauer Sonderstahlbau. Implenia is in charge of the technical management and is the point of contact for DEGES. The total project volume amounts to more than EUR 250 million. Implenia has a share of more than EUR 100 million and Plauen Stahl Technologie (commercial lead) together with Zwickauer Sonderstahlbau around EUR 150 million. The new motorway bridge is 1,500 m long and 42 m high and runs the A7 east of Rendsburg, Schleswig-Holstein, over the Kiel Canal and the Borgstedter Enge. The bridge will be built in composite steel construction and will play an important role for traffic to and from Denmark and Scandinavia. The project will start in January 2023 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The replacement of the Rader Hochbrücke is one of many upcoming projects in the context of replacement new buildings or renovations of a large number of older motorway bridges in Germany.
