In 1964, the first Reka vacation village was built in Lugano-Albonago. Almost 60 years ago, Reka opened its first vacation village in Lugano-Albonago. At that time, Albonago was a small hamlet on the slopes of the largely undeveloped Monte Brè. Now, over the past two years, Reka has transformed the vacation village, which dates back to 1964, into a state-of-the-art facility with a breathtaking view of the city of Lugano, the hills of Malcantone and Lake Lugano. Now, after a complete rebuild, it will reopen just in time for the start of the summer vacations. The vacation village will be open from April to the end of October.Implenia and Reka laid the foundation for their collaboration by signing the contract for the new construction of the Reka vacation village in Lugano in January 2020. With a strong focus on sustainability and accessibility, 49 apartments, two hotel rooms, an osteria & pizzeria, a panoramic pool, a wellness area, a bike station, barbecue areas and playgrounds were created. The resort, which has a four-star rating from HotellerieSuisse, was inaugurated on 18 June 18 2022 and will open its doors to vacationers on 1 July2022.The project was implemented by a well-coordinated team. In order to work efficiently at every stage, Lean Construction, digital construction programs and targeted and ongoing quality and defect management were used for the realization, ensuring operational excellence. The new building was built by Implenia as a total contractor in accordance with the SIA energy efficiency path, which is based on a 2000-watt society and restrictive target values for greenhouse gas emissions. Renewability is generally a top priority in the new vacation village, for example in the timber construction or in the energy supply during operation via self-produced solar or eco-electricity. Thanks to the my climate initiative Cause We Care, guests can also donate a climate contribution when booking their vacation, which will be doubled by Reka.
