LUKOIL continues its work to reduce controlled greenhouse gas emissions at its production facilities. The Company began supplying electricity to its Stavrolen petrochemical plant in Budennovsk, Stavropol region in Russia from LUKOIL's own solar power plant located at its Volgograd refinery. About 11 million kWh are expected to be supplied annually. The use of renewable power generation will enable Stavrolen to reduce carbon footprint of its products with expected reduction of indirect emissions by almost 5 thousand tonnes of СО2 per year. The development of renewable power generation for own needs is an important tool of the Company's decarbonisation program. LUKOIL plans to continue to implement such projects in accordance with its climate strategy. The delivery of “green” electricity to Stavrolen is conducted by LUKOIL-ENERGOSERVICE LLC (a wholly owned subsidiary of PJSC LUKOIL), as provided by non-regulated bilateral contracts. The NP Market Counsel Association updates the register of bilateral contracts with renewable power generation facilities on a monthly basis. The 10 MW SPP in Volgograd was commissioned in 2018. In May 2021, the second stage of the SPP was commissioned which increased its total capacity to 30 MW. The project was implemented under a renewable energy sources capacity supply agreement with mainly Russia-made equipment used.
