Element Resources intends to build and operate one of California’s largest green hydrogen plants to initially produce about 20,000 tonnes per year for supply to end-users throughout the greater Los Angeles region.It plans to construct the facility in the City of Lancaster, less than 100 miles from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The electrolysers at the site will be powered by solar energy.The 20,000-tonne-per-year capacity will be added as part of the project’s first phase. No details were given with regard to subsequent phases.Operation is scheduled to commence in early 2025, creating 36 permanent jobs in addition to the 250 position that would be opened during construction.
