China to Build Sewage System in Serbia

The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Momirović and the Director of China Road and Care Corporation Mr Zhang Xiaoyuen signed commercial contracts on the design and construction of communal infrastructure and the design and execution of works on the construction of infrastructure for the disposal of municipal solid waste in the Republic of Serbia. These agreements will enable the creation of conditions for a large number of municipalities and cities in Serbia to solve their decades-old problems regarding wastewater treatment and solid waste disposal and treatment. The project for the construction of communal infrastructure and infrastructure for the disposal of communal solid waste is envisaged by the "Serbia 202-2025" Program and is currently one of the most valuable projects being implemented in the Republic of Serbia.

The contracts will enable the design and execution of works on the construction of wastewater treatment plants, sewerage network and pumping stations in 65 municipalities and cities, at a total of 73 locations, as well as rehabilitation or construction of regional landfills at 6 locations. The contracts also stipulate construction deadlines and they are 39 months for each individual project to complete each individual facility, including trial operation, and from the date of issuance of the first building permit, in any municipality begins to run the absolute deadline for completion in all local units. self-government and that term is 5 years. The value of these contracts is 3.2 billion euros. The application of the approved technology for wastewater treatment implies and includes the treatment of sludge, which permanently solves this problem and thus affects the protection of the environment and the appearance of cities.

The contracts are made according to the "yellow fidik" model and include the design and execution of works by a Chinese partner, and each municipality and city covered by these contracts will have the status of an investor for works on its territory.

All planned works and construction of facilities will be carried out in accordance with Serbian regulations, but also European directives in this area, with the highest standards and the application of the latest technologies.
