The employment, training and engagement of local people and companies is an important part of CPB Contractors’ successful delivery of the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment Stage 1. The redevelopment provides improved health services for the communities of Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains and includes⦁ A new 14-storey hospital tower ⦁ A new and expanded Emergency Department ⦁ 16 new operating theatres ⦁ 18 birthing suites in new accommodation, an increase of ten ⦁ A new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ⦁ More than 200 overnight beds in new accommodation ⦁ A new multi-storey car park featuring a roof-top helipad ⦁ New community health services ⦁ Expansion of Nepean Cancer Care servicesThe redevelopment involved the delivery of major infrastructure in a live hospital environment. There were major services relocated and complex interfaces with existing facilities, but the early identification and mitigation of environmental risks ensured minimal impact to hospital operations, and there were no major environmental incidents or complaints. CPB Contractors has been selected by the NSW Government to deliver the main works construction on the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2.
