Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure has signed a deal with the Ministry of Transport and Communication’s Provías Nacional to recondition and improve 77 kilometers of the Mollepata Santiago de Chuco highway in the Libertad region of Peru. The contract amounts to nearly 95 million euros. Construction will be carried out at elevations ranging from 2,600 to 3,400 meters above sea level and will include reconditioning and, in certain sections, widening of the roadway, which involves paving with hot asphalt, in addition to the construction of seven bridges, gutters, culverts, and other features.The project is slated to begin in January 2021 and will take two years to complete. With this contract, Sacyr in Peru totals more than 741 km in roadway construction from the Áncash 5R highway and the Initial Periodic Maintenance of the Longitudinal de la Sierra highway, Section 2.
