Located between the world-unique research facilities ESS and Max IV, in the heart of the expansive Science Village in Lund, the building will be a space where researchers, entrepreneurs and students can meet and collaborate in a creative way.The Loop will be a net zero energy office building, meaning it annually will produce and use the same amount of energy . For example, the roof will be equipped with an extensive photovoltaic system and the building will be heated by a system that uses waste heat from nearby research facilities. According to the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's calculation model, the climate footprint is estimated at approximately 370 kg CO2/square meter BTA.Construction is planned to begin in the spring of 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
