40 of the most beautiful sailing ships in the world will dock in Scheldt quays, the Kattendijk dock and the docks around the MAS in Antwerp duing 22-25 July for The Tall Ships Races, an organization of the City of Antwerp & Port of Antwerp-Bruges in collaboration with Balthazar Events and numerous sponsors and partners. There will be number of dazzling performances on the Zaha Hadidplein and Steenplein, the traditional crew parade, to sparkling fireworks over the Scheldt and at the Kattendijkdok on 23 July. The Tall Ships Races consist of two races, a first race from Esbjerg in Denmark to Harlingen in the Netherlands, after which they sail from Harlingen to Antwerp. The ships will depart from Antwerp on 25 July and set sail for Aalborg in Denmark.About a hundred Belgian trainees take part in The Tall Ships Races, all between 15 and 25 years old, united in the Antwerp Crew. In addition, five ships race under the Belgian flag: the Rupel, Saeftinghe, Zenobe Gramme, Op Stok 3 and Patricia.It is the seventh time that the races call at Antwerp.
