Severstal & SUEK’s National Transport Company Ink Logistics Pact
Russian steel maker Severstal and Siberian Coal Energy Company’s National Transport Company, within the framework of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021, entered into an agreement on cooperation in the field of logistics. Under the agreement, the parties intend to develop cooperation in the field of efficient production and logistics of enterprises located in the Murmansk region, such as the Olenegorsk and Kovdorsk mining and processing plants, as well as the Murmansk commercial sea port.
NTK Chairman Mr Stepan Solzhenitsyn said “Every year we supply more than two million tons of products from Murmansk enterprises to the Cherepovets Iron and Steel Works, and it is very important for us to have a guaranteed rhythmic export in accordance with the production plans of the enterprises. The combined efforts with NTK in the field of logistics will allow us not only to ensure stability in supplies, but also to minimize the risks of reducing the volume of shipments of commercial products due to transport and logistics restrictions in the Murmansk region. In addition, we intend to implement new opportunities for the joint use of services, transport and infrastructure in the Mur.”
