Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced that Hindalco Industries has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 for Belagavi Works and Hirakud FRP plant in IndiaHindalco Industries has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification for the manufacture and dispatch of Alumina Hydrate, Calcined Alumina, Special Alumina Hydrate and special Calcined Alumina from the Belagavi Works facility, India. The plant is a predominantly export-oriented unit of special alumina and alumina hydrates for non-metallurgical applications, like refractory, ceramics, polishing, fire retardant filler in polymer composites, alum, zeolite etc. The plant’s capacity comprises approximately 120 different grades of alumina products.Hindalco Industries has achieved ASI Performance Standard V2 (2017) and Chain of Custody V1 (2017) Certification for its rolling operations at the Hirakud FRP (Flat Rolled Products) Plant in Odisha, India. The 135,000-metric ton capacity Hirakud plant specializes in thin-gauge tight tolerance flat rolled products including ultra-light gauge foil stock for making aseptic carmetric ton packs, can body stock for beverage cans, closure stock for bottle caps, fan blade stock, electronic and panel stock for panel bodies. Its products are destined for use in several industries including electrical, consumer durables, transport, and defense sectors. Hirakud is the first and only manufacturer of can body stock in India.The independent, third-party audits of Hindalco Industries Ltd.’s Hirakud FRP facility was carried out by LiberoAssurance.
