Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced that Metra Holding has been successfully certified against the ASI Performance Standard at its Foall foundry and Metra extrusion plant in Rodengo Saiano in Italy. The foundry has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes of extrusion ingots, while the extrusion facility produces 90,000 tonnes of extruded products per year. The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. The ASI Performance Standard defines environmental, social and governance principles and criteria, with the aim to address sustainability issues in the aluminium value chain. It sets out 59 criteria under the three sustainability pillars of Environment, Social, and Governance, which address key issues such as biodiversity, Indigenous Peoples rights, and greenhouse gas emissions. The independent, third-party audit of the Metra Holding operations was carried out by Bureau Veritas Certification.
