ASI Welcomes Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée as New Member
Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced that Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée has joined as a new Production and Transformation member, bringing the total number of ASI Members to 174. Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée is a world leader in the bauxite sector. It operates mines in the area of Sangarédi in the north-western part of the Republic of Guinea.
CBG produces and exports over 16 million tons of higher-grade bauxite per year. Its shares are held by the Guinean State (49%) and by Halco (Mining) Inc. (51%), a company owned by some of the most respected international stakeholders in the industry. Safety and operational excellence are the company’s credo.
