Aiming to win a first order for an aluminum slag processing unit in China, Europlasma has succeeded in improving its process to recover nearly 80% pure alumina. The commercialization of aluminum scrap ultimate treatment units using plasma torch technology is on the right track. The French specialist in pollution control solutions Europlasma has just announced that a new series of tests, carried out in China with a local research center, on its process for recycling hazardous aluminum waste has been successfully completed. The new series of tests carried out after "process optimization" made it possible to treat aluminum waste and recover an alumina with a purity greater than 80%, confirmed by an independent laboratory, against 70% until then. These new results are decisive for the future marketing of treatment units in the country.Europlasma's technology could avoid the formation of red mud in the production of aluminum. Buoyed by this success, Europlasma Environmental Technologies intends to finalize the final contractual stages during the summer (securing the supply of aluminum dross and the selling price of alumina, creation of the operating company, government authorizations, etc.) of its agreement signed in July 2021 with a Chinese metallurgist from Jiangxi province . The Chinese subsidiary of Europlasma should then materialize its first order for a treatment plant with a maximum capacity of 300,000 tonnes per year of aluminum waste within the framework of the letter of intent signed with this partner. It would then be the very first unit in the world for the depollution and recovery of aluminum waste with a level of purity greater than 80% continuously
