Hydro’s aluminium fabrication plant in Taicang has achieved certification according to the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative Performance Standard, joining its sister site in Suzhou, which was certified in May 2022. ASI aims to see sustainability and human rights principles increasingly embedded in supply chains.The Taicang plant employs around 370 people and is located about one hour north of Shanghai. In 2020, Hydro moved the fabrication activities to Taicang after 20 years in Shanghai, for reasons linked to sustainable business development.The ASI Performance Standard recognizes the responsible production, sourcing and stewardship of aluminium. The certification in Taicang covers the plant’s aluminium extrusion and fabrication operations.The Taicang plant uses its advanced equipment and technology to manufacture extruded aluminium profiles and tube products for local and global customers in the automotive, HVAC and industrial industries. Its product range includes cooling plates, guide rails, engine housings/covers, heat sinks, air coolers and manifolds.
