In 2022, Nornickel will invest RUB 5 billion to purchase new machinery and equipment for the Kola Division. In total, the Kola Division will receive around 2,000 units of various equipment’s.In the first quarter of 2022, 14 filter presses are expected to be delivered and installed in the chemical and metallurgical shop, which will improve the efficiency of metal extraction. The carbonyl nickel production department of the nickel electrowinning shop will be equipped with high-pressure receivers, smoke exhausters, tanks and hoppers worth RUB 370 million. To improve process reliability, the concentrator will be equipped with additional standby equipment worth RUB 400 million.Gradual upgrade of equipment at the Severny mine continues. In 2022, Nornickel expectS to RECIEVE basic mining equipment worth RUB 566 million. A further RUB 250 million will be spent to acquire 16 units of wheeled and specialised machinery required to upgrade and improve the production sites. In 2022, Kola MMC will increase its expenditure on environmental issues. The project to dispose of drums from fuel and lubricants has already been launched. Acquisition of a mobile laboratory for air monitoring is expected.In addition, Nornickel has made a strategic decision to re-equip and expand the fleet of shunting locomotives at the Kola Division. A total of 15 diesel locomotives will be purchased by 2025 at a cost of RUB 1.17 billion.
