India's fifth-largest cement group Nuvoco Vistas has added Hindalco's advanced Aluminium Body Trucks to its Logistics Fleet. This unique model enhances Nuvoco's logistics efficiencies and strengthens its sustainable supply chain.Made from Hindalco's high strength marine grade aluminium alloys with ARAI-approved engineered design, these trucks are durable yet lighter than an equivalent steel truck with better load-bearing capacity. This boosts the overall mileage by reducing fuel consumption, leading to saving of 28 tonnes of CO2 emissions over a truck's lifetime. Aluminium offers excellent resistance to corrosion and rust, resulting in a longer lifespan for vehicles. Moreover, the metal can be recycled repeatedly, making automotive manufacturing highly sustainable. Aluminium also has a 70 per cent higher scrap value which makes it cost-effective.The introduction of lighter aluminium body trucks for cement dispatches will help Nuvoco save approximately 28 tCO2 per vehicle in its life-c ycle by reducing fossil fuel consumption leading to natural resource conservation. This initiative will help Nuvoco cut its indirect carbon emissions considerably.
