Autostradale and Stie, renowned bus companies in northern Italy, have welcomed a fleet of 30 cutting-edge Mercedes-Benz Tourismo M/2 touring coaches, marking a pivotal initiative to revitalize tourism in the region. This substantial acquisition, comprising 25 coaches for Autostradale and five for Stie, intends to bolster connectivity between major cities and airports across northern Italy.

Matteo Ferrari, the head of Retail Sales at Daimler Buses Italia, expressed pride in this remarkable order, highlighting its significance both nationally and across Europe. He lauded the partnership with Autostradale and Stie, emphasizing their prominence in Lombardy and the national passenger transport sector.

The newly introduced Tourismo M/2 coaches boast uniform equipment and paintwork across the entire fleet. These approximately 13-meter-long coaches feature 61 seats, including provisions for passengers with reduced mobility through a wheelchair lift. Ensuring utmost safety, the vehicles integrate advanced safety measures, such as the Active Brake Assist 4 (ABA 4) emergency braking assistant.

To maintain the optimal performance of these Tourismo coaches, both companies have secured a comprehensive six-year Omniplus full-service contract with Daimler Buses Italia's after-sales organization.

The decision to invest in these Mercedes-Benz coaches underscores Autostradale and Stie's dedication to sustainable and efficient mobility solutions. Pierluigi Zoncada, president of Autostradale, emphasized the significance of these coaches in meeting high-quality standards for international travelers arriving at northern Italian airports.

Established in 1924, Autostradale focuses on connecting airports with city centers, including the historic Gran Tourismo lines. Stie, with 198 employees, operates extensively in Varese, Milan, Monza Brianza, covering urban transport and various regular services, including key connections to major airports.

The deployment of these Tourismo coaches signifies a substantial commitment to ensuring not just efficient travel but also fostering a positive impression of Italian public transport, both nationally and internationally.
