Siemens Mobility has clinched a game-changing deal, bagging an order to deliver 75 state-of-the-art Mireo trains for the "Central German S-Bahn Network 2025+" project. Valued at approximately $590 million, this substantial order comprises a diverse range: 41 three-car Mireo trains, 18 four-car Mireos, and 16 two-car battery-powered Mireo Plus B trains.

Kai Emanuel, Chairman of the ZVNL association, expresses high hopes for these eco-friendly vehicles, emphasizing the expectation of increased ridership within the Central German S-Bahn network.

Gerhard Greiter, CEO North East and Eastern Europe at Siemens Mobility, reflects on this monumental achievement, labeling it their largest Mireo order to date. He highlights the transformational impact these trains will bring to Leipzig's transportation hub, ensuring enhanced flexibility, increased train capacity, and elevated passenger comfort.

The Mireo trains are slated to cover an annual distance of 10.6 million metric tons in the MDSB network upon commencement in 2026. They'll service several key lines, promising efficient connectivity across various destinations.

The new trains boast impressive features such as spacious seating, designated areas, complimentary WiFi, and an advanced passenger information system. These trains also prioritize environmental sustainability, offering up to 25% higher energy efficiency compared to trains with similar capacities, while being up to 95% recyclable.

Siemens Mobility's commitment to innovation and sustainability shines through the Mireo platform, presenting both electric and battery-powered trains for the Central German S-Bahn network. With over 400 trains sold across 22 Mireo fleets and proven reliability after 50 million kilometers of service, Siemens' Mireo remains a symbol of efficiency and ecological consciousness in rail transport.

The company's global network of factories ensures the manufacture of these advanced trains, aligning with Siemens Mobility's dedication to delivering cutting-edge transportation solutions.
