Volvo Buses in Mexico is commemorating its 25th anniversary by unveiling a fully electric city bus, showcasing the brand's commitment to sustainable urban transportation. Manufactured locally at the Volvo Buses plant in Tultitlán, Mexico, this electric bus named LUMINUS represents the most eco-friendly solution for Mexico's urban transport needs.

Volvo Buses takes pride in leading the transformation towards electric city and intercity passenger transport, working closely with each city and customer to develop tailored solutions. This comprehensive approach includes efficient electric buses, infrastructure development, and project implementation.

Rafael Kisel, President of Volvo Group Mexico, emphasizes that Volvo Buses' extensive experience in the Mexican market enables them to provide customers with more than just electric buses. The company actively engages in planning and dimensioning processes, considering the requirements of each route and operational type. Volvo Buses supplies the buses, charging infrastructure, and offers services, spare parts, and financing for the entire system.

The newly introduced LUMINUS electric bus by Volvo Buses ensures uninterrupted operation, optimal total cost of ownership, and full support throughout the bus's lifespan. Notably, Volvo Buses has developed a circularity model, allowing the batteries to be repurposed after their useful life in the buses, demonstrating the company's commitment to the environment and society.

Rafael Kisel further states that Volvo Buses will continue investing in research and development for zero-emission products while expanding their after-sales service network across Mexico.

The LUMINUS electric bus, built on the reliable Volvo BZL technology, offers various length options ranging from 9.7 to 13 meters. It features battery configurations from 280 to 470 kWh, strategically positioned to optimize interior space utilization. This sustainable transport solution incorporates advanced safety systems such as pedestrian and cyclist detection, as well as speed limit adjustments through the Zone Management system. With its spacious interiors, low entrance, and the market's widest central door, the LUMINUS bus guarantees universal access and efficient boarding and disembarking. Passengers can enjoy a comfortable travel experience with amenities like wireless internet and USB ports for mobile devices.

Volvo Buses underscores its commitment to the Mexican market, demonstrating continuous investment in research and development of zero-emission products and an expanding after-sales service network.
