Karoon Energy Ltd has exercised an option to add the drilling of two development wells at the Patola field offshore Brazil to the work scope of the semi-submersible rig Mærsk Developer. The work is expected to commence in the second half of 2022, in direct continuation of the rig’s previously agreed work scope with Karoon Energy Ltd. The contract extension has a firm duration of 120 days, with a contract value of approximately USD 27 millionn.

Mærsk Developer is a DSS-21 column-stabilised dynamically positioned semi-submersible rig, able to operate in water depths up to 10,000 feet. It was delivered in 2009 and is currently operating offshore Suriname.
