Leading tracking, racking & BIPV solutions provider Arctech has announced a new deal with POWERCHINA Huadong Engineering Corporation. The company will provide 144 MW FIXED-TILT STRUCTURE for the San Marcelino solar farm, so far the largest solar farm in the Philippines with an installed capacity of 283 MW. The wind speed of San Marcelino is strikingly 250 kilometers per hour and the terrain is complex, scaling up the design complexity.Arctech’s fixed-tilt structure provides compatibility with modules of large capacity, and easy installation. It provides advanced performance in rigidity and durability and can be applied for extensive use, enabling increased energy yield in the era of big modules.Location is San Marcelino in province of Zambales on the Island of Luzon, the San Marcelino solar farm will cover 300 hectares. Once up and running, it will produce over 421 GW of electricity per year and thus offset close to 290,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Commercial operations are due to be launched by the first half of 2023.As of the end of 2021, Arctech has delivered more than 3GW of tracking and racking solutions in the Asia-Pacific market and according to the 2020 Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables annual PV mounting report, the company has maintained a leading position in the Asia-Pacific region for three consecutive years, with a market share of 35% in 2020, far ahead of other competitors.
