Belgium-based company specializing in the engineering and construction of industrial solar thermal power plants AZTEQ has been awarded a contract with ENGIE España for the construction of a large-scale installation in Seville, Spain. This deal opens the door wide for major sustainability projects across Europe. Port of Antwerp-Bruges has been a minority shareholder of this Belgian scale-up for several years now. The new solar thermal power plant will be installed and commissioned on the Heineken España brewery's own premises. The financing will be provided by ENGIE España, which will own, operate and maintain the solar power plant.AZTEQ was chosen by ENGIE España as the main contractor for the EPC and will design and build the solar power plant based on the actual heat needs of Heineken's local brewery in Seville.In return, Heineken España will use all renewable solar heat produced by the AZTEQ facility to replace fossil fuel heat over a 20-year period through a long-term PPA agreement with partner ENGIE España in Spain.Azteq is a Belgian company dedicated to the engineering and construction of solar thermal power plants that produce up to 400 degrees Celsius for industrial processes steam, thermal oil & hot water etc. Highly efficient parabolic and vacuum collector tubes are used for optimal absorption of the concentrated solar heat. AZTEQ offers EPC contracts as well as heat as a service through exploitation contracts over a period of 20 to 30 years.
