The projects on Nhon Trach 3 & 4 Thermal Power Plants were approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy, appraised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the basic designs, decided by PV Power for investment and managed by the Power Management Board for project development implementation. In accordance with bidding results at January 27 2022, the Consortium of Samsung C&T and Lilama Corporation has won the EPC contractor.The EPC (engineering-procurement-construction) package of the projects has an aggregate estimation of over VND 24,147 billion (equivalent to USD 1,044 billion). The main scope of work is building two plants applied the world leading technology of using modern combined cycle gas turbines with 1-1-1 configuration (1 gas turbine, 1 heat recovery boiler and 1 steam turbine) with a total capacity of 1,642MW (812 MW each). The projects should be developed within 36 months.
