Wärtsilä, via its joint venture CWEC, secures a pivotal role in supplying four Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines for the final vessel among six LNG carriers. The selection was based on superior performance and reduced emissions. This move aligns with ADNOC Logistics & Services' sustainability efforts, aiming to cut energy consumption, emissions, and operational costs while ensuring minimal methane slip during LNG operation.

Wärtsilä, in partnership with CWEC (Shanghai) Company Ltd., marks a significant milestone as it lands the role of supplying four Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel auxiliary engines for the last vessel among a series of six newbuild 175,000 m3 LNG carriers. The engine's selection is a testament to its capacity for heightened performance and reduced emissions, supported by the Wärtsilä greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction package. This strategic move is poised to enhance the vessels' operational efficiency while significantly curtailing their environmental impact.

These LNG carriers, constructed at the Jiangnan Shipyard in China, are a crucial venture for ADNOC Logistics & Services plc., a major player in global energy maritime logistics. Mr. Rajan Khanna, Head of Sales for the Middle East at Wärtsilä, expressed gratitude, highlighting how the Wärtsilä 34DF engine is poised to revolutionize energy consumption, emissions, and operating costs for ADNOC's LNG carriers. Particularly noteworthy is its capability to minimize methane slip during LNG operation, a pivotal environmental consideration.

Apart from the engines, Wärtsilä is set to supply shaft seals for these carriers, slated for delivery between 2025 and 2026. With a strong regional presence, supported by over 300 employees and a workshop in the United Arab Emirates, Wärtsilä remains dedicated to supporting its customers' sustainable initiatives in the region.

Wärtsilä's collaboration with CWEC marks a momentous advancement in the LNG carrier realm. The selection of their cutting-edge Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engines for ADNOC's carriers signifies a stride towards reduced emissions, enhanced efficiency, and lowered operational costs. This initiative not only aligns with ADNOC's sustainability endeavors but also underscores Wärtsilä's commitment to providing innovative, eco-friendly solutions for maritime operations.
