Magna PT has achieved Aluminium Stewardship Initiative’s Performance Standard V2 (2017) Certification with a focus on Material Stewardship for the production of automotive transmissions at its Modugno plant in Italy. In addition, the Magna PT subsidiary has expanded its Performance Standard Certification (#151) scope to include its Rosenberg, Germany plant, which produces gearboxes, drive systems and components.The ASI Certification program was developed through an extensive multi-stakeholder consultation process and is the only comprehensive voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the aluminium value chain. ASI Performance Standard certifications focusing on ‘material stewardship’ address issues such as product design, life cycle assessments, management of process scrap and collection and recycling of products at end-of-life.The independent, third-party audit of the Magna PT S.p.A. Modugno site was carried out by GUTcert (AFNOR Group).
